The Hyderabad High Court on Monday rejected the petition filed by the Congress candidate for the Nagar Kurnool Assembly constituency Nagam Janardhan Reddy against the Palamur - Ranga Reddy lift irrigation project.
Reddy had filed a petition (PIL 338) in 2017 alleging that commissions were involved in the implementation of the project works, and wanted the court to intervene and stop the works immediately. He stated that the costs pertaining to certain works in the packages 1, 5, 8 and 16 were hiked without any justificaton.
The court, which examined the tender process of the project through which the bids were invited, found no technical or financial irregularities.
BHEL is one of the companies that are executing the works.
