Chaos ensued in the Nalgonda ZP general body meeting on Wednesday when the incharge minister G Jagadish Reddy and local MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy entered a verbal war.
The minister and the MLA made allegations and counter-allegations that echoed in the meeting hall.
Komatireddy Venkat Reddy expressed anger at the district officials alleging that they were not following the protocol. Reacting to it, Jagadish Reddy countered that it was the Congress leaders who were not following the protocol and threatening officials. He reminded Komatireddy of the case filed against the latter for inaugurating an RDO office without informing anybody.
The minister further said that the government would not keep quiet if Komatireddy made false allegations and indulged in "rowdy" politics.
Following the allegations and counter-allegations, the followers of both leaders created chaos in the hall and rushed towards each other, creating tension in the venue for some time. ZP chairman Balu Naik and other MLAs interfered and controlled the leaders and their followers.
