Condemning the IT raids on the residences of TPCC working president A Revanth Reddy, TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the IT department would unearth hundreds of crores if they conducted raids in Pragathi Bhavan.
Uttam Kumar Reddy and his party colleagues K Jana Reddy, Seethakka, Guduru Narayana Reddy and several others visited Revanth Reddy's residence at the time of the IT raids on his house. Speaking to the media there, Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's family had amassed huge illegal money by engaging in corrupt deals. The KCR family had religiously collected 6% commissions from contractors, he claimed.
Reddy also claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and KCR in the state were resorting to arm-twisting activities against the opposition parties. It was as part of that strategy that the state governments in non-Congress states were routinely harassing Congress leaders through IT raids, as could be seen in Karnataka before the elections there and in Telangana now, and KCR was getting Congress leaders arrested like he had done in the case of Jagga Reddy earlier this month, and the IT department to raid the residences of Revanth Reddy today. Uttam Kumar Reddy predicted that the people would teach a fitting lesson to KCR.
Jana Reddy also condemned the raids. He alleged that KCR was violating democratic values, and asked the people to defeat the TRS in the elections.
