The Bharatiya Janata Party's Telangana unit on Sunday released its manifesto for the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections. And several promises by the party appear to be similar to those made by the Congress for the same elections.
The BJP has announced that it would waive off loans of up to Rs. 2 lakhs of farmers, and fill 2 lakh government jobs within three months of coming into power.
The Congress has also made similar promises.
The BJP has also promised to build 9 barrages over the Godavari river for the optimal utilization of its waters, build houses for all homeless poor families of the state, increase the subsidy being given to shepherds from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 50,000, free cycles to school-going children and two-wheelers to college-going children, free laptops to all degree students, and free breakfast to all the beneficiaries of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
Other promises by the party include a life insurance cover of Rs. 5 lakhs to each of the poor families of the state and government jobs to one of the family members of the Telangana statehood struggle martyrs.
The party has also decided to rope in the services of 20 star campaigners for its campaign.
