Hyderabad | 23rd August 2018
Chaos marked the Andhra Pradesh Congress Coordination Committee meeting today when PCC member Shiva Chary tried to kill himself by consuming pesticide.

Party activists prevented him from committing the act.

Later, Chary alleged that Nellore DCC chief Panabaka Krishnaiah had made him spend Rs 50 lakhs when he (Chary) had expressed his desire to contest from the Nellore Rural constituency, but had now kept his (Chary's) name aside and was planning to give priority to others.

Chary said that he had decided to commit suicide also due to harassment by Krishnaiah.

AP Congress affairs in-charge Oommen Chandy was also present during the incident.
