An abandoned tiffin box at the Khairatabad circle created plenty of commotion today. However, the people of the area heaved a sigh of relief when the bomb squad and dog squad ruled that there were no explosives in the tiffin box.
According to the police, some locals observed a tiffin box placed beside a BMW (AP16 EG0786) stationed on the road to Anand Nagar Colony from the Khairatabad circle here on Sunday. They alerted the police when nobody claimed the tiffin box even after a few hours.
The police immediately reached the spot along with the dog and bomb squads, and found that there was nothing explosive in the tiffin box. They just found cooked rice in the box after opening it.
When the car owner was traced and contacted, he said that he had gone to get a gas cutter. The police took the owner to the Punjagutta police station for interrogation for leaving the tiffin box negligently on the road. They released him after finding nothing suspicious with or on him after a thorough inquiry of the car and his laptop.
